GREEN NECKERCHIEF w/ FIRST TREFOIL
Here is a triangular neckerchief that is the
most recognized Girl Scout accessory
next to the badge sash.  In the early years, this was the standard. This "First" trefoil (see the 5th picture,) began in1919 and was black.  This Purple color was introduced in 1920, and yellow was introduced on the trefoil on most colors.
This measure approximately 49 inches on the long side, and 29 inches on the short sides. This is in poor condition because I loaned it to the SF
Museum
and after several months under the lights, it came back to me in this "mottled" condition.  Sigh.  This discoloration is very uneven and odd looking, but I had visions of carefully organized my frame so that it would not show.  B
ut I never could find the brown color, so these never got into a frame.  Thus they are all listed here one at a time.
In addition to the mottling, the hem is starting to come undone as is common on these older neckerchiefs.
Remember,
at that time, uniforms were worn to camp and when games were played as well as at meetings.
The Uniform guide shows as many as 14 colors of neckerchiefs at that time.
