Offering avintage
1940's RCA MI-6203-C Varacoustic "LO" Ribbon Microphone with desk stand and cable
. This model sprang from the overwhelming popularity of the RCA 77, so RCA installed the
same ribbon/motor structure inside a smaller casing.
This is a
fine
high-fidelity low-z ribbon mic
designed to provide a variety of directional response patterns.
A slide baffle control on the backside allows for a
choice of directional patterns resulting in increased signal-to-noise ratio
, otherwise it's exactly the same motor as a 77-D. The mic casing has had some physical restoration, new screen cloth, and repainted.
RCA marketed this mic towards indoor sound applications; public address, studio, industrial sound and stage pick-up. (The final 2 photos show this model used with "The Shadow" radio series from the 40's, and a press film photo with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.)
This one is in
excellent working condition
...has been thoroughly tested
providing a smooth rich audio profile with strong output
. It has the 5/8-27 thread adapter so can mount to any standard desk/floor stand or overhead boom.
The aluminum desk stand shown is included
, a nice metal RCA badge affixed, and is hardwired to a short cable terminating with a 3 pin male XLR plug.
