2 White 4400 28 Band 1/3 Octave Room Equalizers Recapped 2010, Tested, Work Well

TWO White 4400 28 Band Active Third Octave Room Monitor Equalizers, Tested, Work Well. These EQ's were the room EQ gold standard fin major studios for many years and are still very desirable and effective for control room monitoring. Both units were fully recapped by us in 2010 and the capacitors probably have another 15-20 years of remaining life.
These units are configured for single amp (not bi-amp or tri-amp) applications. The rear panel has sockets that can be used with White crossover networks, but the networks are not included and there are jumper plugs in their place. Similarly, plug in input and output transformers were options for this model but they are not included; jumper plugs are fitted in the transformer sockets. These units can also be used with external transformers for input and/or output.
All 56 EQ controls have been tested and work properly, with no intermittency or frequency errors.

Frequency range with controls set flat: 20 Hz. - 20 kHz., -3 dB.
Filter type: LC inductor type tunes resonators.
Input amplifier: single ended buffer amp, 20kΩ impedance.
Output amplifier: single ended buffer amp, 50Ω impedance.
Maximum output level: +18 dBu into 600 ohms.
Noise: 90 dB below normal operating level.
Distortion: less than .2% THD at +18dBu, less than .02% at o dBu.
Connectors: barrier strip with screw terminals.
A copy of the owner's manual is included. We're also including schematics, which were not included in the original manual. However these were faxed to us a long time ago and are a little unclear.

Please note that adding graphic EQ's like this to a large monitor system can be very tricky in terms of ground noise, and this job should be done by an experienced technician. We have included new XLR adapter cables that are wired in the way that is mostly likely to result in quiet performance, but there are several other ways for linking and floating grounds, grounding the power cables, providing a rack ground, jumpering the "cold" side of a balanced connection, etc. These equalizers have been carefully bench tested and there is no hum or buzz present on the outputs, but the user will need to plan and execute proper interfacing to prevent ground loop issues with other gear in the system.
