Obverse: The presented figurative element represents the typical Albanian traditional costume with fustanella for men, which is taken from a historical engraving of the 19th century, e period in which this costume was used in all Albanian regions, from the north to the south. Only after the 30s of the 20th century, this costume was used and is still used in the south of Albania, while in the north it was replaced by the woollen costume.
The element held by the figure is also historically known: it is called the long Albanian rifle and it is similarly named in many historical documents of the 18th century, by authors such as Poucquvile, T. Ipen, etc., as "Les longes Albanaise fusile".
Reverse: There are decorations, which in fact are stylisations of the Albanian ethnography. Below the arch there is the inscription "SHQIPERI-ALBANIA 2004".
Both sides of the coin, that is, the symbolism of the figure and the side decorations, express the national content of the coin.
This coin was minted by the Polish State Mint (Mennica Panstwowa SA), Poland.
The drawings of this coin were made by the painter Artan Peqini.
