antique/vintage Hopi kachina doll Buffalo(?) original paint c 1900's.
Up for offer is this wonderful antique/vintage hand carved Hopi kachina doll. This lovely hand carved figure appears to be carved out of one piece of cottonwood. measuring approx: 6 33/4" T x 2 3/4" W (across from horn to horn) Overall body color is black. On top of head/backside is carved with carved longer slab of hair/fur(?), and is painted black with remnants of white polka dots as well as the horns. Sporting a head band that is also painted in a textile pattern in colors of burnt orange, grey, black and white. Eyes and inside mouth, and under chin are with white paint accents. Has painted white squiggles front of chest, down side of arms and sides of the back, hands also. The skirt on the figure are painted with light blue waist, with burnt orange skirt hosting a black snake surround with designs, and vegetation sprigs, and a bottom blue band. Black legs with white squiggle, red shoes. The kachina is free standing on it's own. (STILL)
Condition: Excellent used vintage very small chip missing on left top horn, scraping on back of head with some paint loss (looks like from being picked up and placed back down on table), or  just from handling? This is original, with no repairs I can make out.
