    Description

    This is a
    FINE SCARCE NATIVE AMERICAN HOPI HAND CARVED DOUBLE MUDHEAD 11.5" TALL KACHINA DANCER made & signed by A. R. SMITH
    .  I believe it to be Hopi,   It is really well done and in great paint & condition!   Its RARE to find a Kachina with a Child in a Pouch strapped to its back, as is the case in this one.  Both are Adult & Child are Mudheads and
    similarly
    decorated and adorned with flowers.
    The representation of the Deity is clothed in
    leather or yarn straps at its wrist waist & Knees.  It has a paint decorated body & painted wooden head and neck w feathers at the top of his head and in the little ones hands.  In the adults hands he carries a drum and drumstick.  This figurine is mounted on a wood base and accents the natural aspect of this carved wood figurine.
    This masterful piece measures 11.5" tall to the top of the feathers.  He is approx 6.5
    " Wide x about 3.5" Wide at the  base.  He's a good one cuz its hard to find them this fancy and 2 figures joined together!
    The bottom of the round wooden base is written Mud Head Kachina by A. R. Smith.  This is probably from the 90's or early 2000's.
