This exquisite Native American Hopi Kachina doll, handcrafted by artisan Gene Dawahoya, depicts the “White Bear” and is a perfect addition to any collection. With intricate details and vibrant colors, this 7” doll represents the tribal affiliation and cultural traditions of the Hopi people.
White Bear Kachina, HON, is powerful and thought to be capable to curing illness. Naturally, they are great warriors, with the bear claw symbolic of great strength and power. HON are usually seen in the Soyohim or Mixed Dances in the spring.
About the Artist, Gene Dawahoya:
Gene Dawahoya is a Hopi Katsina carver from Hopi 2nd Mesa. He is the brother of Nuvadi Dawahoya. Gene is a noted artist who has received many awards for his work. His Katsinas are often carved of a single piece of cottonwood root, and feature natural paints. His stunning Katsinam are coveted by collectors for their intricate detail. Gene is known to carry on the tradition of Traditional Katsina Dolls including Eagle Dancers, Warrior Maidens and more.
I am not the original owner of this piece, and I am not sure if he is meant to be holding anything or not. There are no broken off pieces in his hands.

Please note that all items are preowned unless stated otherwise; therefore, you should expect to see normal signs of prior usage. Any damage present that exceeds regular wear & tear will be outlined in the description. Some items may not include all original accessories. Unless noted otherwise, all photos are of the actual item(s) you will receive.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of purchase for all Buy It Now transactions, including best offers. If you win an auction, the payment is due within two days of auction end.
Shipping
Item(s) will be shipped within 1-2 business days after receiving payment. Sometimes I offer more than one shipping option so please review the options under the shipping tab.
Combined Shipping
I will combine shipping when it’s possible and safe to do so. Please contact me before purchasing so I can make the necessary adjustment. I cannot refund any savings if you purchase & pay for the items before the adjustment has been made.
International Buyers
While most of my items ship within the US only, I am open to shipping internationally. If the item weighs more than a pound, I round up to the next pound as it doesn’t make a difference when shipping within the US once the item exceeds a pound. It does however make a difference when shipping internationally, so please message me for a more accurate, likely cheaper, shipping quote. Any and all custom fees, additional taxes, etc. are the responsibility of the international buyer.
Problems or Issues Upon Delivery
Should you have any issues upon receiving your item, please contact me first to discuss. If an oversight has occurred on my part, I will take the necessary steps to resolve the issue.
Damaged Items
While I cannot control what happens to the package once it leaves my hands, I will assist the buyer in filing a claim with the carrier should the item arrive damaged. The carrier will need pictures of the box, packaging/wrapping used and damaged item, along with proof of purchase and a picture of the item before it shipped (listing photos.) Buyer must hold on to the item and packaging until they pay on the claim as sometimes the carrier will ask that the item be physically brought in to them to inspect. Again, please notify me within a week of delivery so we can get the situation resolved as quickly as possible together.
Item Not Received
If you haven’t received your item in the expected timeframe, please contact me. I always purchase my labels through eBay so you will have the tracking information the moment I create the label. If the item shows delivered, I recommend contacting the carrier and your neighbors to see if a mistake was made by USPS. There has been an uptick in “Porch Pirate” thefts or mailbox theft, and I cannot be held responsible for what happens once the item has been delivered. I highly recommend anyone who has been a victim of mail theft to report it to their local police station, regardless of the cost of the item.
Return Policy
I do accept returns on most items; however, if an item is damaged or defaced by the customer, or if a new item is returned opened, used or without the tag(s) attached, the refund amount will be reduced by up to 50% as allowable by eBay. By purchasing this item, you are agreeing to this store policy.
