Presented today is this simply beautiful Hopi Kachina doll, depicting Pash, the Field Kachina. Standing 7 and a half inches tall, he is carved by the exceedingly well-known and highly respected Gai-Nah-Ne (also known as Ray Jose Jr), a carver which decades of experience. He has won prizes throughout the Southwest and appeared in literally dozens of galleries. His work is traditional and naturalistic. His figures always seem at ease, and comfortable with themselves. He has great name recognition, but his work has always been approachable. This is a wonderful, if somewhat simple example of his talent and would look great in any Kachina doll collection.
