Presented today is this wonderful Hopi Kachina doll, depicting Hon, the White Bear Kachina. The Bear is the foremost of all healers, but simultaneously a fearless warrior. This great example, standing 6 inches tall, was carved by the young and awesomely talented Philander Shelton, grandson of the late Henry Shelton. It is beautifully painted in soft, muted colors which seem almost like an aged patina.
