    Description

Presented today is this beautiful Hopi Kachina doll, depicting Momo, the Bee Kachina. This odd looking and rarely carved Kachina is a favorite in the night dances. With a contradictory personality, he dances in the tightly packed audience, threatening to shoot, and often actually shooting spectators with a tiny, blunt arrow. Paradoxically, he offers honey to children, from honeycomb-shaped cups on his head. Although relatively old, he certainly dates to after the coming of the Spanish, who brought honey-producing bees with them from Europe. Standing 12 inches tall, it is carved by the very well-known and highly respected Martin Poola, a young carver of great talent and imagination. The piece has an Old Style quality that is truly beautiful. This Kachina doll would look great in your collection. Buy with confidence, for as you all know, if the buyer is unsatisfied for ANY reason, i will immediately return the full purchase price along with return shipping. Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and as always, Best Regards, Mary
