    Description

Presented today is this lovely Hopi Kachina doll, depicting Kopon, the Globe Mallow Kachina. This Kachina challenges runners at the ceremonial footraces. If he is happy with their running ability, he will reward them with sweet piki bread. More often, however, he lashes them with yucca whips for their slowness. Standing 7 and a half inches tall, this fine example is carved by Philman Harvey, from Polacca. Carving for over three decades, Philman is well-known and highly respected. This piece is from the early 1980's, and is one of his earlier works. A gifted carver, he has won awards both at the Museum of Northern Arizona, showing there multiple back-to-back years at the Hopi Show and the Intertribal Indian Ceremonial, Gallup NM. Although carved in the 1980's this lovely doll is in perfect condition, and has lived it's entire life in a glass case. Buy with complete confidence, for as you all know, if the buyer is unsatisfied for ANY reason, I will immediately return the full purchase price, including return shipping. This piece would look great in any Kachina doll collection; shouldn’t it be in YOURS? Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and as always, Best Regards, Rich
