Description
Presented today is this tiny Hopi Kachina doll, depictingthe Hemis Mana Kachina. She is the consort of the Hemis Kachina, who is in charge of the all-important Home Going Dance, which symbolizes all the Kachinas returning to their home in the San Francisco Peaks, from July until the Winter Solstice. Standing a diminutive 4 inches tall, he was carved by Anthony David, of Polacca, around 2000. Anthony was taught the art of carving by his good friend Richard Gorman.
