    Description

Presented today is this beautiful Hopi Kachina doll, depicting Matia, the Pot Carrying Kachina. This Kachina appears both as a Racing Kachina and a ceremonial dancer during the Mixed Kachina Dances. Standing 8 inches tall (not counting his beautiful feathers), he is carved by the young and very talented Theron Talashoma. Theron is fascinated with the Old Style figures, and he brings an incredible “wildness” to his Kachina dolls, as if this were a figure which reposed in a sacred cave for centuries. His work is incredibly fresh and sincere, and I believe he is truly a young artist to watch. This Matia Kachina is an excellent example of his work, with an imposing, even monumental appearance.  It displays beautifully and would look great in any Kachina doll collection. Buy with confidence, for as you all know, if the buyer is unsatisfied for ANY reason, i will immediately return the full purchase price. He’s available today at a VERY modest price, so don’t let this wonderful opportunity pass you by! Thanks for looking and Best Regards, Mary
