Presented today is this hauntingly beautiful Kachina sculpture. Depicting the Warrior Twin, he stands 12 inches tall, and is carved by the obscure but talented Shirley Honie, one of the rare female carvers. She never attends shows and rarely
exhibits
in galleries, preferring to sell out of her home. It is surprising that her work is somewhat prolific. This excellent example of her artistry has a moody, introspective quality. The intentional aging and distressing gives the figure an ancient, mysterious aura.
