NOTE: the left wrist is broken, though it seems it could be an easy repair (SEE picture with pen) this has been priced accordingly. Very Nice Kachina Doll Signed By Cindy Kachada. This features a detailed representation of The Mud Head Clown Dancer from the Hopi Native American culture. Balancing on one foot, this figure stands on a painted wood round in a mid-dance pose. There are fur cuffs on the wrists, ankles and a large fur tail attached to the leather wraparound. The removable clay colored headdress has multiple knobs, a tall feather tipped cone and a thick fur collar. His body is painted reddish-brown and under the mask his facial features are exaggerated with paint and he has long dark hair made of a dark colored fur This measures 15" High x 5 1/2" Wide at the base

    . Very Nice Kachina Doll Signed By Cindy Kachada. This features a detailed representation of The Mud Head Clown Dancer from the Hopi Native American culture. On the underside of the stand is written: The Mud Head Clown by Cindy by "Kachada". Cindy Kachada is well known for her copyrighted and patented dolls with removable masks and the copyright stamp for this doll dates it from 1983 to 1988.
    Traditionally, these dolls were used as ceremonial teaching tools for young girls and new brides. Seen in most Hopi ceremonies, the Mudhead Kachinas play the role of entertainment and laughter a the Hopi dances. They drum, dance, play games and may act as announcers for events.
