    Description

Proudly presented today is this very large Jemez Kachina doll, depicting Muzribi, the Bean Kachina. i have frequently seen Kachina dolls from Zuni, Isleta and Laguna, but this is the very first time i've seen one from Jemez Pueblo. It's just as rare as it can be.
Standing 15 and a half inches tall, it is carved by R. Samacilo. There are observable distinctions between this doll and it's Hopi equivalent, some subtle some obvious. The skirt is different and this coincides with the appearance of the skirts at Jemez dances. The moccasins are also different as is the fur ruff. The most obvious is that the doll is carved from pine, like older Zuni Kachina dolls, instead of Cottonwood root, but since it's the only Jemez doll i have ever seen, i can't say if this is normal or unique. Buy with complete confidence, for as you all know, if the buyer is unsatisfied for ANY reason, I will immediately return the full purchase price, including return shipping. The timelessness of his style will never go out of fashion, and it will give its proud owner a lifetime of satisfaction. This piece would look great in any Kachina doll collection; shouldn’t it be in YOURS? Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and as always, Best Regards, Rich
