Remodded HUGE 1920's Crosley-based Ring Spring Suspension Microphone - working!!

Offering a unique working "work of art"...a 1920's Crosley-styled speaker remodded into a functioning spring suspension microphone!
(We only ever did 2 of these remodded mics, and this is one of them.)
This "creation" is based on the early (and very large) Western Electric / Kellogg desktop carbon mics that came out in the beginning of the 1900's.
(The last photo shows an excellent example of this type of microphone being used in the 1930's.)
This beautifully designed art-deco casing was originally a CROSLEY MUSICONE speaker, but has been stripped down, cleaned and repainted with a Leather Brown crinkle enamel and clearcoat finish, the nice brass frontal Crosley badge polished, and mounted atop a gorgeous vintage brass supporting base. Inside, an 8 spring assembly anchored to the casing, with an oversized inner element which houses a
modern dynamic microphone capsule.
The end result, a
beautiful and working desktop microphone
, wired to a short cable with male XLR plug. (We can swap the XLR plug for a 1/4" male phono plug if you prefer.) This unit is compatible with any amp or mixer, no phantom power needed. What a statement piece for a video conference, zoom meeting, desktop microphone, or working fantasy collectable.
The all-metal casing measures 12" in diameter with a total height of 13".
