For sale is a Signed Hopi Vintage Native American Chief Mudhead Kachina Doll by J. Hendricks.
Handmade with great care; the details are quite breath-taking.
The Mudhead Kachinas play the role of entertainment and laughter at the Hopi dances. They drum, dance, play games and may act as announcers for events.

He passed away, so I cannot give more details on provenance.
This person had numerous kachinas and others will soon be at auction.

Measures approximately 19”H; 9” wide from arm to arm; base is approximately 5.5”
diameter.

Beautifully made from wood with fabric and feather accents.
It shows dust from storage.
I see that the feather on the very back of the head is missing; there is a separation in the wood on the arm at the elbow on one side.
