    Description

Wow! Take a look at this GORGEOUS Hopi Kachina doll, depicting the Deer Kachina. As a prayer for an increase in Deer herds, this animal was once a crucial source of meat for the Hopis. But over time, the near disappearance of this animal, and the introduction of domestic livestock, has changed it to a prayer for wild game in general. This exquisite example would be at home in the best galleries of Sedona or Santa Fe, and it is a rare privilege to offer a piece of this ethereal quality.   He is very impressively expressed here by Philbert Poleyestewa, of Moencopi, an artist of immense talent and energy. This lovely doll stands 8 and a half inches tall (to the tips of his antlers), and is incredibly carved from a single piece of Cottonwood root. The detail is just exquisite, and it would be a fantastic addition to any Kachina doll collection, created by a recognized carver and an always popular subject.  Buy with confidence, because as you all know, if the buyer is unsatisfied for ANY reason, i will immediately return the full purchase price. Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and sincere Congratulations in advance to the lucky buyer! Best Regards, Rich
