Up for auction is my
Tascam 85-16 B 16 track 1” Reel to Reel Tape Recorder
in excellent visual and functional condition. I have owned this recorder since 1990 and it has been lightly used in my home studio. I am selling because I have gone (almost all digital) and since the Tascam is not getting the proper use it should, it needs to go to an analog studio where it can be pampered and enjoyed. Very clean in beautiful condition. Gently used in my pet and smoke free home environment. Let me know if you would like additional pictures. Glad to provide.

I also have had the heads relapped by JRF Magnetics and will include the paperwork.
NOTE: There are two issues with the recorder. First the digital counter/return to zero numbers fade in and out from time to time, yet it still functions. Secondly, the unit needs to be on and fully warm (at least 1 hour) before the record functionality engages. Most studios leave their recorders on 24/7 although I do not. Other than that she is in perfect working condition and sounds absolutely fabulous!
NOTE: I WILL NOT SHIP! The Tascam is extremely heavy and would cost hundred$$$ to ship safely. So local pickup only…BUT I am willing to meet at a reasonable distance from Upstate NY and drop her off. Contact me through eBay and we can work out the details.
