The Buffalo is the most powerful amongst Kachinas. It can kill any evil thoughts, a great spiritual protector.
Warrior - Serves as a policeman, important war Kachina.
The Buffalo Dancer or Kocha Mosairu is not a Kachina, but rather a social dancer.
Photos 14 and 15 are with a Silver Certificate Dollar Bill showing the size of this piece,15.5" t x 7.5" w.
The small 3-D Buffalo at the bottom of this Kachina broke off during the California 1994 Northridge Earthquake.
It has been repaired but is still visible, if you look for it.

She passed about 16 years ago and had been collecting from the late 70's thru mid 90's.
The entire collection has been in storage for safe keeping ever since her passing, and now the family
would like others to enjoy these wonderful pieces of Native American art, just as she did.

The belief is that kachinas are ancestral spirits that help connect humans with the spirit world in their features of the natural world such as clouds, winds, thunder, and rain.
