From a Tucson, Arizona collector's estate:
Vintage Route 66 Kachina Doll. Measures 8" tall.
Route 66 kachinas are smaller kachina dolls carved by Hopi carvers from traditional cottonwood root and typically meant for sale in the souvenir shops along historic Route 66 including the famed Fred Harvey stores.
This doll is larger than most and features a wonderful tableta (head dress).
Due to the quality of the painting, I believe that this doll was carved and painted by a member of the Pooley family, but it is unsigned.
Very good condition. Remnants of missing feathers at 3 points on the tableta.
