    Description

    For sale is a Vintage Signed Hopi Native American Sun Face Kachina doll.  Handmade with great care; the details are quite breath-taking.  The Sunface Kachina doll represents warmth, shelter for the old, a bright future, and playfulness for the young. It is a representation of the spirit of the sun.

    This item has been given to me for sale by the family of the person who owned it.  He passed away, so I cannot give more details on provenance.  This person had numerous hkachinas and others will soon be at auction.

    Signature is hard to decipher.  Appears to be something like Jim Yowella, but I cannot be sure.

    Measures approximately 13”H; 8” wide from arm to arm; base is approximately 4.75” diameter.

    Base is marked with a half sun, the name of the artist, and the words Sun Kachina/Tawa Kachina.
