    Yellow Corn Maiden Kachina (Katsina) by M. Kelsey, Laguna.
    Measures 11.5" tall x 2" wide. Base approx. 3.5".
    The carving and painting on this Kachina are impressive.
    The Corn Maiden Kachina appears at Soyal ceremony and marks the beginning of Kachina season by marking the openings to the kivas with cornmeal. Her presence is a prayer for corn.
